Cardi B arrives to warm Trini welcome ahead of Big Bad Soca

Hip-hop star Cardi B walked out of Piarco International Airport and into a warm Carnival welcome Wednesday afternoon ahead of her highly-anticipated performance at Big Bad Soca with Bunji Garlin.

Although flanked with her entourage and heavy security, the Bodak Yellow rapper took time to take selfies with fans and sign autographs.

When asked how she felt to be back in Trinidad, she jokingly said that she wished she knew she was getting such a large welcome so she could have dolled up a bit more. 

She was presented with a TRIBE costume, possibly hinting that she may be on the road Carnival Monday and Tuesday. 

Big Bad Soca kicks off tonight at 9PM at the Brian Lara Stadium. Bunji Garlin and Cardi B are headlining the concert, with Fay Ann Lyons, Patrice Roberts, Voice, Lyrikal, Shal, Iwer George, and Shenseea rounding out the artist lineup. It was just confirmed today that Machel Montano will also hit the stage.
