It's Xodus 'to di world'
for Carnival 2019
Carnival chasers and soca music lovers gathered at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre last Saturday to catch a glimpse of what Xodus' band, titled 'Cosmopolitan The World in One Band', has to offer for the upcoming fete season.
At 11:45 p.m., the sounds of Shenseea's ShenYeng Anthem, branded as Xodus Anthem, chimed in, and the models could be seen peeping from stage left and right.
The costume designs, based on global cities, including Cairo, Mumbai, Manhattan and Florence, were loud, colourful and possessed a personality that's different from the rest.
Along with the parade of models that showcased frontline and backline costume options for the sections, the promoters selected some of the premier soca disc jockeys to set the pace of energy.
Trinidad and Tobago's DJ Charlotte, accompanied by DJ Patrick 'The Hype Man', spun soca and dancehall tunes from the 90s to present.
Current dancehall trendsetter Teejay performed his popular single Up Top Boss as the models did an encore across the stage, which had members of the audience shouting 'to di world'.
Other recording artistes Ding Dong, Chi Ching Ching, and Sean Paul showed their support for the three-year-old band as they interacted with the patrons at the front of the stage.
