Your only destination to all things CARNIVAL
It's safe to say that Bunji Garlin is having a stellar year.
Following 'Buss Head', the massive hit collab that he dropped with Machel Montano, he's gone on to headline at Drake's OVO Fest and Notting Hill Carnival in London. He also just recently performed and soca's first concert in an Apple store.
And now, his album, Turn Up, which dropped on September 1, debuted at number 3 on the Billboard Reggae Charts. His album debuted just behind Damian Jr. Gong's latest album, Stony Hill and ahead of Sizzla's I'm Yours.
The Viking shared his gratitude with his fans on Instagram.
"God is great. My new album "Turn Up" just debuted at #3 on the Reagge Billboard charts. As you can see I'm amongst good company as well. It's a great day today for trinidadians making global marks in music."
Bunji isn't the only Trini artist making waves on Billboard. GBM Nutron's first international album, Calypso: The Unsung Legacy, has debuted at number 11 on the Reggae Charts. He also shared the news via Instagram, thanking God and his fans.
"Wayyyyysss‼️ '..Number 11 cuz I'm the one twice over..' Super proud of the team on this one cuz they know how much this means to me.. I had to stop my session to make this post cuz I couldn't let a moment pass by without thanking God and of course YOU‼️ If you didn't support by clicking and buying my name wouldn't even be up there on BILLBOARD !!!! Let's keep this going till we reach the top and flood them with SOCA ‼️"
With soca making such big waves internationally, we're looking forward to the genre having its own chart on Billboard soon.
