The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service issued The Traffic Restriction (Temporary Provisions) (Carnival) Order, 2017 which outlines parking and traffic restrictions throughout the country.
Restrictions will be in place from Monday February 27, 2017 from 2:00 am to 10:00 pm, and on Carnival Tuesday from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm.
On Carnival Monday from 2:00 am to 10:00 pm, one-way traffic is allowed along Stone Street between Wrightson Road and Park Street in a southerly direction only.
On Carnival Monday from 2:00 am to 10:00 pm and on Carnival Tuesday from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm drivers can proceed along:
a) Archer Street between Belmont Circular Road and Jerningham Avenue, in a southerly direction only
b) Cadiz Road in an easterly direction only
c) Prada Street between Maraval Road and Wainwright Street in a westerly direction only.
From 2:00 am to midnight on Carnival Monday and Tuesday, two-way access will be allowed:
a) Around the Queen's Park Savannah between Casual Cornr and Jerningham Avenue
b) On Observatory Street between Quarry Street and Belmont Circular Road
c) On Belmont Circular Road between Observatory Street and the entrance to the Port of Spain General Hospital
d) Oxford Street between Observatory Street and Charlotte Street
e) Gaston Johnston Street
f) Panka Street between Gaston Johnston Street and Lucknow Street
g) Lucknow Street.
On Carnival Tuesday only, the northbound carriageway of Maraval Parkway will be two-way traffic between Belle-Smythe Street and Wrightson Road.
Persons are also asked to note the change of taxi stands to different locations.
